Private Charters & Tours

Deluxe Dolphin Lana’i Snorkel Adventures are available year round. Whale Watches are available December 15th to April 15th.
A word about chartering the boat or boats for your own private use: If there is something that you REALLY want to see or do on the water, a private charter must be considered! Think about it for a minute. There are no other vessels on the water that can offer the geographical range that Captain Steve’s provides, and snorkeling is just the beginning of what is available. We have an extraordinary volume of resources to tap in order to realize your wishes and dreams. Our captains and crew have a tremendous imagination, as well as the credentials to back up the ideas they dream up for our guests. Conventions, corporate meetings, family reunions, weddings, honeymoons, ash scatterings, and nature photography are just some of the many types of private charters we offer.

What’s Included
Whale watching for the whale watches including expert narration and use of our underwater hydrophone to listen to the whales. Our Deluxe Dolphin Lana’i Snorkel Adventure includes whale watching during whale season, searching for dolphins, turtles, rays, Hawaiian monk seals and more sea life, midmorning fruit and banana bread, a delicious deli style lunch, drinks, snorkel gear, floatation devices, and snorkeling instruction. If there are other ideas, tell us what you’d like to do, and we’ll try to make it happen.
Starting on October 1, 2022, only mineral sunscreens will be allowed in the County of Maui . Aerosol sprays are not allowed on our rafts to protect the reef and to improve the overall passenger experience. To help protect Maui County reefs, choose only mineral sunscreens made with ‘non-nanotized’ zinc oxide or titanium dioxide—natural mineral ingredients. Since no sunscreen is completely waterproof or effective, the first line of defense in protecting your skin is seeking shade, and wearing protective clothing such as hats, long-sleeved shirts and sunglasses or rash guards and wetsuits in the water. What is non-mineral sunscreen and how does it harm the reef?
Non-mineral sunscreen is any sunscreen that uses an active ingredient other than zinc oxide and titanium dioxide (mineral UV filters). When we swim in the ocean or shower at home, these non-mineral sunscreens (containing petrochemical UV filters) can wash off, enter our rivers and ocean, and harm corals and other marine life. According to NOAA, damage includes but is not limited to:
- Coral: Accumulation in tissues; bleaching; DNA damage; deformed and killed young
- Fish: Decreased fertility and reproduction; female characteristics in males
- Dolphins: Accumulation in tissues and transferred to young
Captain’s Note

These excursions are NOT recommended for pregnant women, people with bad backs, neck problems, bad knees, heart problems, elderly, fragile people, or children under the age of five years.
